The problem with an unhealthy competition is that it is never an ending process.
There will always be someone ahead of you in life. Someone with a better husband, more beautiful wife, better behaved children, more educated( not just memorise and reproduce but with the ability to think), more expensive car, nicer house, more money in the bank, more travelled, etc.
Life is not a race. Be the best that you can be. No condition whatsoever is permanent.
